18th January - Clear up

Today is a simple challenge, as its the new year we want you to do a bit of clearing up! Whats sat on your desk? Are there photos, papers or bits and pieces that have been sat there for ages waiting to be scrapped but you never seem to get around to using them? Now is your chance to use them and clear your desk!

Anna:
I've had this photo of one of my nephews printed out for ages and hadn't done anything with it, until now! My nephew doesn't stuck his thumb like most other children, but his two middle fingers! I'm glad I've scrapped it as its a great story to go into my nephews scrapbook.

HeeSun Kim:

Did you get ditched or something?Broken hearts will heal naturally with the passing of time. I erased you that lodged deep in my heart. I had to clean my heart.
Gone, flitted away
Taken the stars from the night and the sun.
From the day!
Gone, and a cloud in my heart.
- Alfred Tennyson -

Hilde:

I have had this photo of my oldest son (15) on my desk since July (!). It's taken on a boat trip/mini cruise, when he and his brother fought & were bored almost all the time (the is a story about WHY, but I'll leave that for another time). They finally desiced they could buy themselves a set of lego each to kill time and keep peace - luckily you're never too old for lego :-)

Jinny:
This challenge was a bit of a toughie for me, because I'm always clearing my desk.  I have had my final December Jenni Bowlin Papercrafting Kit, which was filled with lots of pretty papers from Elle's studio, sitting on my desk for a few weeks, though.  So, that is where I found inspiration for today's page.  I also used up a few seasonal goodies that have been lingering around my workspace since last Christmas in combination with some things that just arrived.

Kat:
I have had a pretty Cocoa Daisy kit sitting on my desk for awhile now.  I think that everything in the kit is so pretty, but it's just not in keeping with my normal style, so I hadn't used it...until this challenge.  With the help of this layout as a starting point, I was able to create this...a layout that's not totally my style, but one that I definitely love.

Sindi:
I have been staring at this orange chevron paper for months. I love the paper, but just couldn't decide what colors to put with that orange. I decided to add some pale blue and a bit of green. I think I may need to force myself to do a challenge like this more often!

Tessa:
I have had the January Scrapbook Circle kit on my desk for weeks, just waiting to be enjoyed. I finally pulled it out, along with a photo that I had printed months and months ago of my little girl. To go even further with the challenge, I included some tissue paper (the gold and white stripe) that was on my desk because I am currently making tissue paper tassels for her first birthday party. I think I need this challenge at least quarterly!

You have until 1st February to join in with January's challenges, we would love to see what you have laying on your desk waiting to be scrapped!

If you would like to be a part of this great team of designers, don't miss our new Design Team Call coming up in the next few days!

4th Jan - Review of the Year

Good morning, everyone!  We hope that you and your family had a safe and happy New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.

Today's challenge is all about reflections.  We want you to create a project that focuses on 2014. Instead of looking forward we want you to look back at the year that has gone: what was the best thing that happened, what did you learn in the year or maybe you would like to review it month by month. It's up to you!
Here are the projects that our designers created:

HeeSun Kim:

I bought the camera in May 2012. I thought it would use the bundle lens until the operation is to get used to the hand. April 2014. I purchased two types of lens.
After purchasing a lens. My work has been upgraded.

Hilde:

2014 has been a very challenging year for my family: there has been injuries, sickness, death, financial insecurity blah blah blah, but it ended very good. When we were in the middle of it, it was rough, but now we have peace and are looking forward for a fabolous 2015!

My hubby gave me a cutting machine, a Cameo, for Christmas - it has been on my wish list for two years ++, and I ccouldn't resist playing with it for this challenge.

Jinny:
I love the freedom Anna has given us with this challenge, especially because, while many wonderful things have happened in my life in 2014, there have been a number of challenges that have really gotten me down going into 2015.  Ultimately, the best part of 2014, hands-down, was the birth of my third cutie pie.  He entered the world a month early and had a number of struggles right off the bat, but he pushed through, is now thriving, and has already been such a blessing to us all in so many ways.  My hubby gave me a six-month, Noel Mignon subscription for Christmas, so most of what you see below came directly from my first box.  Yay!  Happy 2015, friends!

Kat:
I went Project Life style with this challenge.  I used some fun cut-apart paper from Bella Blvd and created a wrap-up spread for my 2014 Project Life album - love the end result.  It's simple, but it does a great job summing up the year & I may have to make this a new PL tradition!  This spread probably looks a little weird because the months aren't quite in order, but the left side is actually the front of a pocket page and the right side is the back...

Sindi:
I looked back over the year and one photo kept jumping out at me. We had a very snowy winter here last year. On this day in particular, my son had the time of his life. This photo of him and his furry buddy is my favorite of the year. His happiness is my happiness. :)

Tessa:
I didn't take a very serious approach to this prompt! I was just getting my hair done a week or so ago and my stylist and I realized that throughout 2014, I had tried basically the whole spectrum of hair colors - from almost black to blond to red to brunette. I thought my colorful pixies would be fun to document for this challenge.

We hope you can play along with us!  Please link your projects up in the side bar.
