31st December - Looking forward

Good Morning, welcome to the last challenge of 2017!

Today we are challenging you to ...
31st December- Look Forward; as it's New Year's Eve I want you to look forward to the new year, what are you looking forward to or hoping for in the new year?

Here is what our DT came up with ....
Denise

In Germany everyone does their own fireworks at midnight. I created a layout with some pictures of these fireworks and added several new year wishes.

Hannah
I used this star circuit to represent hope. I am looking forward to being myself and never stop dreaming and to always be scrapping for my children and family members.

Helen
I used a free cut file from the Paper Issues store to make the title for my page and backed it with some patterned paper from Pink Paislee/Paige Evans' Turn The Page collection. Plus, I created my own background using mists and some packaging and finished it off with embellishments from the paper range.

Helen's process video for this layout.

Please link up your layouts to the side bar, we would love to see what your looking forward to for 2018.

Happy New Year!
I hope 2018 is a good year for you all.

17th December- Sparkle and Shine

As it's almost Christmas, today I challenge you to use...

Sparkle and Shine; I want to see your layouts with things that shine and sparkle this could be glitter, metallics, gems or anything that shines or sparkles!

Here are the design teams take on this challenge....

Denise
I backed this beautiful xoxo cut file from just nick with light green glitter paper!

Hannah
I use mixed media to create this layout.I use sequins and Convex powder to let it sparkle and shine. You can try it!

Helen
I think I may have gone a little crazy with the sparkle and shine in this layout. I even made my own glitter paper by covering spare cardstock with glitter tape and then I die cut some leaves from it. Pop over to my blog (my name is the link) if you wish to watch my process video.

Jinny
I've added lots of foam, glitter Thickers to my take for sparkle and gold stitching and sequin stars for shine.

Lisa-Marie

3rd December - Sketch

Good morning everyone and Happy December!
Our first challenge of this Christmas month is a sketch. I created this one to hopefully inspire you to get creating.

We welcome three new members to our Design Team today Denise, Helen and Lisa-Marie.

Please welcome...

Denise

Hello , I’m Denise and I live in southern Germany with my  family. I have been a scrapbooker since I got my first camera when I was sixteen. I decorated my albums long time before I ever heard the word “scrapbooking”. Ten years ago, I was infected with all the possibilities of die cutters, papers, stamps and embellishments. Last year, I started with mixed media and up to now, I like this style: a little bit neat, a little bit messy. I am really excited, to be a part of this design team at the studio challenge blog!

Visit me on:

I was inspired by the crosses on the sketch and decided to create a layout with these funny pictures of the kids playing with the "Ambu"-man...

Hannah

Please welcome...

Helen
Hi, I'm Helen and I'm from Perth, Western Australia.  I have been scrapbooking since 2002 when I first got introduced to this wonderful hobby. I used to scrapbook clean and simple double pages, however, over time my style has morphed more into a messy mixed media single page one.  I also like to create YouTube videos as a source of inspiration, well I hope others find inspiration and don’t just laugh at my Aussie accent. In my craft room I scrapbook, make cards, create mixed media canvases, art journal and paint abstract paintings. Really, I enjoy anything that feeds my creativity. By day I am a primary school teacher and by night a single mother to teenage twin boys.

This is Helen's take on the sketch...

And last but not by any means least, please welcome....

Lisa-Marie

Hi!  I'm Lisa-Marie and I live in Durbanville - which is in the Western Cape, South Africa.  I am widowed and have a precocious, delightful, awesome 7-year-old daughter (who you will see on a lot of my layouts!)  I have been scrapping for about a decade now and it's safe to say that it has become my absolute passion (and therapy too!).  I am fortunate enough to not work, so you will find me in my little scrapping room Monday to Friday, pretty much from dusk 'til dawn.  Most of my work comprises single page layouts, but I do enjoy off the page / altered projects and mixed media canvases; and I have been known to dabble with card making, tags and art journal pages too.  I serve on four other Design Teams currently; and I am BEYOND thrilled to join The Studio as well!  My scrapping tells stories - I don't just do it for the art.  My poor daughter will have to buy a rather large house one day for all the albums, canvases and such like, I have to pass on to her!!  For the past two years, my New Years resolution has been to create more art - so far so good, onward and upward from there.  I'd love you to follow my scrapping journey over at my blog - https://scrappaperscissorsblog.wordpress.com/ - and my older work is over at http://bluebirdscrapper.blogspot.co.za/.  I also have a Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/bluebirdscrapper/.  Scrapping continues to evolve and there is SO much inspiration out there; what a privilege it would be for me, if I could get to inspire you too!

Here's Lisa-Marie's take on the sketch...

The sketch is essentially a cluster of elements that are centered towards the left and middle of page . . . so that's what I did!

We hope these lovely layouts have inspired you to join in with us, please link up your finished layouts to the side bar.
There happens to be three challenges this month so you have until the 14th January to enter so even if your December is looking a bit busy you should still have time to enter!

Happy Scrapping!
