Wednesday Extra: Home Decor Frame by Amanda

This week I thought I'd share a quick tutorial on how I made this simple frame for my home. I love making things for my home from my scrapbooking supplies as it means I get to look at the products I love on a daily basis!

Supplies: Vintage frame, Teresa Collins POSH collection papers, vintage playing cards, Teresa Collins Blingage gems, Bubblegum Pink Glimmer Mist, adhesive by Therm-O-Web.

First of all I painted the frame - it was a vintage frame and gold originally, but the paint was flaking badly. I used 2 coats of gesso and then a coat of white acrylic paint.

To decorate the inside of the frame I first cut a piece of patterned paper to fit. I spilled splattered a little glimmer mist on the paper to add a bit of pink ;)

As a feature for the centre of the frame I trimmed a cameo from my paper, along with a strip of butterflies. If you don't have these papers then buy them I'm sure there are a multitude of possibilities in your stash you can cut out as your centre-piece :)

I mounted the playing cards onto black cardstock to help them stand out on the background.

I then adhered the elements onto the background as per the picture above. It didn't quite seem finished, so I added a few gems to the centre and corners of my playing cards. The cameo was attached with a 3D foam square to add a bit of dimension.

I hope you'll try out making something for your home out of your favourite scrappy supplies. If you do I'd love to see what you create!

Thanks for reading and enjoy your day,
Amanda x
