23rd September -Colour Palette

Today we have a lovely colour palette to inspire you.

Here is what the design team came up using these colours...

I always struggled when I have to follow a colour mood board, I start out thinking I can use those colours but then I get so involved in what I am creating that I forget to check if I'm sticking to the designated colour combinations. Luckily, they are always just a guide. I used an old photo, mainly because when I did look at the gorgeous autumnal colours of this mood board I thought of this photo straight away.

I absolutely LOVED working on this sublime mood board; it depicts my favourite time of year - Autumn - when mother nature's paintbrush does her finest work!  I used the colours of the board and also added some fussy cut leaves just to add to the Autumn feel.

9th September -Numbers

Today's challenge is ...
Numbers; as the schools here in the UK have just gone back after the summer I want to see you use numbers on your layout.

The school theme photograph I have used in this layout is my daughter's Grade R graduation photograph, taken about 2 years ago.  I think it's just the sweetest pic of her and I was so glad to be able to use it for this awesome challenge!

26th August - Happy

Good Morning! Today's challenge is...

 Happy; August happens to be Happiness Happens month in America so we want to see your Happy layouts.

What makes me happy? Spending time with my sons and enjoying holidays together. This page is about one of our latest trips to the South West of Western Australia where we had a great time relaxing together.

The reason I chose this photo - aside from the fact that my daughter's happiness OOZES from it - is because it was just one of the happiest days for us as a family.  In South Africa we get very little snow - in fact, when we DO get snow, we have to wake up at the crack of dawn (because pretty much the entire Western Cape drives out to see the snow) and drive up into the mountain. On this particular day, not only did we see loads of snow - we were snowed ON.  Having experienced this myself (as a child and abroad), I was desperate for my daughter to experience it too...  And on this day she did.  I cried like a baby as I watched her laughing and squealing with absolute delight, catching snowflakes on her tongue!  It's a day I will never forget.
