10th February - Scraplift

Good Morning! We have the first challenge with the new design team today so you have a bumper amount of inspiration!

We challenge you to...
Scraplift -  I would like you to Scraplift a layout that a DT member made for a challenge for The Studio blog. You can pick anyone you like.
Here you will see a small version of the layout the design team picked and then their take underneath it.

Astrid

I choose this lovely layout by Denise.

I love the blue colours and the Tic Tac Toe challenge, I took 1 element from this page and made it my one. I also kept the challenge alive. I used the gorgeous Stargazer collectie from Kaisercraft. For this page I used a photo with my youngest daughter Chimène.

Brenshevia
I choose this wonderful layout by Denise.

This was such a fun page to lift.  For my project I used a paper pad I have had for a while from DCWV which allowed me to finally scrap some of my granddaughter's school photos from 2 years ago!

Diana

I chose to scraplift a layout that Denise did back last September.  I was drawn to the cluster of flowers behind her photo. I didn't want to just copy her layout so I challenged myself to create a cluster of embellishments that weren't flowers.

Here's my layout.  I chose a picture of my 5 month old puppy in his happy place!

Deb

I lifted a fabulous Lisa-Marie layout(the same one as Denise)

I'm a real Lisa_Marie fan girl :)  I love the layers, distressing and texture that Lisa-Marie adds to all her layouts.  For my scraplift, I tried to replicate the background using a stencil and ink.  I coloured the cut file leaves with Distress Oxide, and coloured the butter muslin with brown ink.
No photo description available.
Denise

I lifted this layout from Lisa-Marie:

I love her style, so I tried to copy it, too. Ok, I was not able to create so many layers, but I had so much fun  to work with this style. I didn't know what kind of fabric she used, so I tried it with a piece of gauze bandage that I colored with some distress paint. ;-)

Lisa-Marie

I was really drawn to this layout that Denise created, using a mood board.  I simply HAD to lift it!!

As you can see, I flipped it once, clockwise.  I had such fun working with it!  Thanks for the inspiration, Denise!!!

Lori

I chose this beautiful layout from Lisa-Marie from October. I love that she always uses so many layers behind her photo and the colors in this particular layout are my favorite to work with.

I used the same color combo - adding in a few more colors - and since Lisa-Marie does a lot of mixed media by way of stencil work, I decided to do a smooshed background and build my layers on top of that. I switched out the flowers for some hearts and had a lot of fun adding in lots of circles and tabs in between the layers.

Michelle

Hey everyone. I went back a few months and chose a layout by Helen from September.

Since the photo I wanted to use was horizontal I decided to rotate Helen's layout. Instead of gears and stars I used leaves.

I love all the takes, well done to the new DT you did a great job
I hope that has inspired you to get scraplifting, if so please link your finished layout to the side bar by 10th March.
Happy Scrapping!

I have been a scrapbooker now for almost 15 years, in those years I've had the honoured of being published numerous times in ScrapBook Magazine, Cards & Scrap and Around the world with 80 Artists. What can I say about my scrapbook style, well I love to scrap Clean and Simple with a touch of Romance. I'm very excited to join this design team at the Studio Challenge Blog!!! I am the mother of two young adult children and grandmother of 4 who are the primary focus of my pages.  I started scrapping back in 2007, I took a break later that year for about 6 months and have been scrapping every since.  I find being creative very soothing and relaxing.  I enjoy the fact that my children and grandchildren will have these precious memories to someday look back on way after I am gone.  Allow me to share my journey with you.  Please visit me at http://scrappingeverydaylife.blogspot.com/

Deb

Hello, I'm Deb and I come from the land Down Under - Devonport, Tasmania to be exact.  I am really excited to e joining the Design Team here at The Studio.  I am a wife and a mother of 2 young adult sons who make my life complete.  I have been scrapbooking about 15 years now  and love this journey I have been on.  My husband says I have enough supplies to last a lifetime, but he's not telling the truth there - I have enough supplies to last 2 lifetimes, hahaha.  I am first and foremost a single page 12x12 scrapper, who loves layers and distressing and who dabbles in mixed media.   I look forward to creating for you all and hope you join in the challenges.  You can see more of my work at my blog or check me out on Instagram @debbie.pulford.

Diana

Hi there! My name is Diana Poirier and I live in a little town in Ontario, Canada.  I’ve been a scrapbooker and card maker now for over 15 years. I got started just before my son was born and haven’t stopped since.  I LOVE documenting my life with my little family and I hope by sharing my creations it will inspire you to document your life’s big and everyday moments. I feel scrapbooking is such a wonderful way to document your journey. I've had the honour of being published numerous times in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and also in Scrapbook & Cards Today.  I'm thrilled to be joining the design team here at The Studio Challenges and can't wait to see all your creations! You can check out more of my work over on my blog at www.dianasscrapbookingblog.com.

Lori

"Hello! My name is Lori and I am so excited to be on The Studio Challenges Design Team! I live in a small SW Missouri town with my husband, Scott, and our 2 sons, Matthew and Shane. We also have a daughter, Abby, who is married to her high school sweetheart and they have a five year old little girl named Ada that I get the pleasure of watching through the week. I started scrapbooking about 20 years ago and card making soon after that. Nothing relaxes me more than spending time in my scrap room. I love looking back on all that has happened and preserving those memories. I would call my scrappy style clean and simple, but once in a while I do like to add a few more layers to my projects. You can find me at My Happy Life any day of the week. I would love for you to stop by!"

Michelle

Hey everyone. My name is Michelle Mattie and I live on our family farm in a small community on the east coast of Canada. I work full time as a veterinary technician and have a daughter and adorable grandson, who are the focus of most of my layouts. I started scrapbooking in 2003 after being invited to a home party and haven't looked back!! I love challenges and use sketches on pretty much all my pages. Some signatures are machine stitching, fussy cutting and mixed media, in one form or another. I love texture and dimension on my layouts. When I'm not scrapping I love to putter outside, play volleyball, read or work on wool applique. I am super excited to be on The Studio Challenges team and can't wait to see how the challenges inspire you.  You can check out more of my work on my blog ,instagram or facebook . Thanks for stopping by.

They will also be joined by my two continuing designers Denise and Lisa-Marie, thank you for remaining on the team girls!

Congratulations all, l can't wait to see what you create, it is so good to have a bigger team again.

See you next week for the new DT members first challenge.
